ABOUT US ____________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ We feel passionately that environmental sustainability requires a grassroots effort to change personal habits, and inspire and educate others to follow suit. Though the naysayers may still try to deny scientific fact, it is clear that global warming is man made and cannot be remedied without each of us, or at least most of us, changing our wasteful habits. One very effective and simple way each of us can significantly reduce waste and harm to the environment is to get out of the habit of using destructive throw-away plastic bags every time we go to the store. It can take up to 1,000 years for just 1 throw-away plastic bag to decompose in a landfill and it is estimated that each of us throws away 300 plastic bags every year. These discarded bags are a significant cause of pollution, contain harmful carcinogens, injure animals and contribute to carbon emissions, energy consumption and oil dependence. We live in South Florida where we are pleased to see a growing concern for the environment, including many grocery stores offering reusable bags for sale. However, most of the bags lack aesthetic appeal, despite South Beach (SoBe) being on the cutting edge of fashion. Therefore, we have created cute and trendy reusable grocery bags for the eco-aware and fashion-conscious. It is our mission to inspire and educate our community, person-by-person, to make behavioral changes to reduce waste, pollution, injury to animals and energy consumption, without compromising personal style. After all, what is more important than protecting our planet? SoBe Green is a Not-For-Profit Organization. Proceeds from our sales will be utilized to actively promote environmental sustainability in our community. 100% of our net profits will be donated to effective non-profits actively furthering our cause.
